Elmore's Pharmacy, had been previously owned
by a man named Rosvere, and it was from him that Robert Elmore,
obtained it in 1865 or earlier. The business has occupied two
locations since the early 1900's.
A.W. Woolf and a partner purchased Elmore's
Pharmacy in 1906 from Robert Elmore, who lived but a short time
after that. Woolf, who marked fifty years as a pharmacist -
the greater majority of them at Elmore's Pharmacy - has a number
of "Charter memberships" to his name. He was a charter
member of the Red Bluff Elks Lodge; a charter member of Rotary,
and was a member of the Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce longer
than any other person in the city during his life. Woolf was
also a charter member of the Golf Club, but soon found out that
he couldn't play golf and work, so gave up golf.
Today the Pharmacy remains on Walnut Street
and is owned by Mike and Nancy Toney. Mike started working in
the community in the mid 80's and the family moved to Red Bluff
in 1996. Loving the community they are involved with several
activities and sponsor youth baseball and socker. The family
enjoys fishing and the beautiful Tehama County out doors. Having
10 employees and working in the family business has been very
rewarding. Quality patient care is what Elmore's Pharmacy represents.
The beautiful store also offers distinctive gifts, excellent
customer service and RX's drugs.
