Herman Dolling Insurance Agency, Inc. was Established in approximately 1889 as the M.R. Hook Agency. In 1924 George B. Champlin purchased the agency, renaming it Champlin Agency. George ran the agency until his death in 1933. The agency was sold to Herbert J. Gans who operated it until 1939. At the time it was taken back by the Champlin family.

During the period 1941 to 1946 Eleanor Champlin Dolling ran the agency when Herman Dolling went into the Army during World War II. In 1946 the agency was renamed Herman Dolling Insurance. In March 1972, Tod Dolling took over the agency and in August 1978, was incorporated as Herman Dolling Insurance Agency, Inc.
